Undertaking the position of artistic director for this contemporary chamber opera is French director Marcelino Martin Valiente. Known as a multi-talented artist, working in a variety of roles like a choreographer, film director, theatre, Valiente has toured in many countries such as Poland, France, Italy, Pakistan, Estonia and Norway. The story of a soldier through his staging and coordination promises to be a fresh experiment and even an absolute break from previous creations. The Soldier's story under Valiente's hand is transformed into another cosmic time, where the epic meets science fiction, where the story takes on a contemporary and even futuristic setting.

While the image of Faust, the character selling souls to the devil is still clearly depicted in the work, director Valiente completely disrupts the space structure of the story. ATH theatre artists will not perform through body language but with their voice. In addition, Nguyen My Anh's fanciful illustrations with artist Nguyen Thanh Phong's mentor will guide viewers throughout the show. Nguyen My Anh, along with Nguyen Thanh Phong are co-authors of Long Than General, the best Vietnamese comic book series in the past 10 years and one of the few Vietnamese comic books to receive prestigious awards in the world.

It can be said that in this version of The Soldier's Story, the story of the soldier is also the story of the devil, the evil becomes limitless, far-fetched, uncertain, unable to grasp, constantly querying the impermanence of human life. The show "lieu trai" brings together the talents of three artistic fields: music, theatre and visual arts from three countries: Vietnam, Japan and France, promising a unique novel play with memorable moments.

Musicals& Visual Arts performance "The Soldier's story" was performed with the support of the AIC Group and the Swiss Embassy in the framework of the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Switzerland and Vietnam.
