Japan provides Covid-19 treatment equipment to Vietnam

On November 5, the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) handed over a batch of Covid-19 diagnostic and treatment equipment to Cho Ray Hospital, including: 2 three-probe color Doppler ultrasound machines, 20 6-parameter patient monitors, 10 high-function ventilators and 1 portable digital X-ray machine. At the request of Cho Ray Hospital, in July 2021, JICA decided to provide some necessary medical equipment in the diagnosis and treatment of Covid-19 patients to the hospital. This batch of equipment is within the framework of the program to support the prevention of COVID-19 for the southern region of the JICA Vietnam Office. The entire support package with a total value of 120 million yen (about 24 billion VND) will be handed over in installments to Cho Ray Hospital in the Japanese financial year 2021 (until March 31, 2022).
At the equipment handover ceremony held online, Mr. Shimizu Akira, Chief Representative of JICA Vietnam Office said: "I am very impressed with the medical staff and medical staff of Cho Ray Hospital who did not mind difficulties. I hope that JICA's support through Cho Ray Hospital will contribute to strengthening the medical field in the southern region." The Japanese Government and JICA will continue to support Vietnam in the prevention of infectious diseases, especially the prevention of the Covid-19 epidemic.
