Discover cultural heritage in Hanoi's Old Quarter

A series of activities honoring and promoting Thang Long - Hanoi cultural heritage, celebrating Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day 23/11 has just been organized by Hanoi Old Quarter Cultural Exchange Center, Hoan Kiem Lake Management Board and Hanoi Old Quarter coordinated with units and held the opening ceremony on the afternoon of November 19.

On the occasion of Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (November 23, 2005 - November 23, 2021), on the afternoon of November 19, at the Cultural Exchange Center of Hanoi Old Quarter (No. 50 Dao Duy Tu Street, Hoan Kiem Dist, Hanoi), the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter held the opening ceremony of a series of activities to honor and promote the cultural heritage of Thang Long - Hanoi. Thang Long - Hanoi is a rich land of craft village heritage. On this occasion, at the Cultural Exchange Center of the Old Quarter, the Organizing Committee selected to introduce wood carving products of the traditional carpentry village of Ang Phao (Cao Duong commune, Thanh Oai district). At the main display area, the Organizing Committee has reconstructed a frame of a traditional wooden house, creating conditions for visitors to have a clearer picture of the traditional ancient house of the North.  The Organizing Committee also introduced some typical products of Ang Phao carpentry with many ancient motifs of the period. At the same time, introduce the carpentry process; tools used in wood carving.

Thereby preserving, introducing and promoting Vietnamese traditional fine arts and sculptures through the periods. The products and artifacts on display are mainly of the family of artisan Nguyen Van Quyet, a famous craftsman of Ang Phao carpentry village. On this occasion, at the Hoan Kiem Lake Cultural Information Center (No. 2, Le Thai To Street, Hoan Kiem District), the Management Board of Hoan Kiem Lake and Hanoi Old Quarter also held a photo exhibition with the theme "Traditional occupations". Vietnam", introduces 60 selected photographic works from the Vietnam Heritage Photo Contest with the theme "Vietnamese traditional craft".

Through exhibitions and displays, the public and visitors can more deeply feel the lasting vitality of the traditional craft heritage, the persistent creativity of artisans and craftsmen in the village. traditional and modern values ​​closer together. In addition, there were art performances held at Heritage House (no. 87, Ma May street, Hoan Kiem district), the award ceremony of the art design contest "Hoan Kiem - 60 years of one love". … To prevent and control the Covid-19 epidemic, the Organizing Committee requires all participants to follow the rules of epidemic prevention, strictly implement 5K, install and scan QR codes, visit a maximum of 10 people/ group… In addition to the live form, the Organizing Committee also carried out millions of activities and heritage demonstrations on the Fanpage "Hanoi Old Quarter".
